ACPS Employee Wellness is a program that provides resources and events to encourage employees to take an active role in their wellness. Wellness is multidimensional and our focus is around six tenants of wellness: physical, mental, spiritual, emotional, social, and environmental.
ACPS Employee Wellness Bingo is running for six weeks from February 9 - March 22, 2024. For every five squares completed, your name will be entered in the ACPS Employee Wellness raffle once. 50 winners will be chosen and receive a wellness gift!

The week of November 27 - December 1, 2023 daily wellness events will be shared with ACPS staff so they can take an active role in their wellness. All ACPS staff will also be receiving a wellness gift!
ACPS Wellness Bingo, is back by popular demand! Wellness Bingo will run for 6-weeks beginning February 13th and ending March 24, 2023. Show your participation by completing a short google form by COB Friday, March 24th. Participants will have their names entered into a raffle for every five boxes completed! 50 winners will be chosen and given a gift from the ACPS Employee Wellness Prize Patrol!
ACPS offers an Employee Assistance Program through Hartford. This program, Ability Assist Counseling Services, offers immediate, no-cost assistance for emotional or work-life counseling, financial information, and legal support and resources: 1-800-96-HELPS (1-800-964-3577).

The City of Alexandria has resources available to support your wellness.
City of Alexandria Recreation Centers
The recreation centers in the City of Alexandria, including the pool at Chinquapin Park Recreation Center, are free to ACPS staff. ACPS employees need to show their ACPS ID badge for access.
Amenities at the different centers may include athletic fields, pools, gymnasiums, dance studios, fitness rooms, and much more!
Winkler Botanical Preserve
Stroll through a 44-acre oasis in the middle of the Alexandria to support your physical, spiritual, and environmental wellness. Multiple trails, streams, a lake, and a waterfall, surrounded by woods and native plants, create an urban oasis in Alexandria's west end.
Admission is free and the preserve is open daily from 8:30 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.

Beginning July 1, UnitedHealthcare is rolling out Real Appeal, the premium step-by-step, personalized program that helps individuals lose weight and lower their risk for chronic diseases such as heart disease, Type 2 diabetes and more.
Real Appeal is a healthcare benefit through UnitedHealthcare insurance that is available to UnitedHealthcare members. Employees and their spouses and dependents 18 and older who have ACPS UnitedHealthcare insurance and a body mass index (BMI) of 23 or higher can participate in the program at no cost.
The year-long program includes a personal transformation coach; an online portal with resources, mobile app integration, an online support group, and more; and a Real Appeal Success Kit that includes guides, fitness DVDs, a personal blender, cooking tools, a scale and more, delivered to your door. The program offers everything you need to kickstart your weight loss and help you develop healthy habits.
